“Together We Are Stronger, Together We Thrive!"
Honor the Vision, Celebrate the Present, and Believe in our Future!

Local Beginnings
The Daughters of Penelope is an AHEPA Senior Ladies Auxiliary. The Daughters of Penelope, Lyra Chapter 241, was organized in Greenville, S.C. in the early 1950’s. From its conception and earliest beginnings, the goal and purpose in mind was to help all American-Hellenic families grow closer together and to serve as a resource for educational, social, and Philanthropic needs in the community. This year we commemorate our 90th Anniversary, celebrating 90 Years of Excellence. Today, It is recognized as the largest Hellenic organization worldwide, with over 400 chapters in the US, Greece, Cyprus, the Bahamas, and Europe. Our own beloved Saint George Chapter Lyra 241 remains very strong and active, with 43 amazing, beautiful, and contributing members.

Objectives
The DOP strive to promote the Hellenic traits of kindness, tolerance, patience, truth, goodness, beauty, self improvement, purity, and loyalty. The Daughters love and support their beloved parish, St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, as well as sponsor and participate in many community projects. Service to humanity is the unifying theme of all the Daughters. Through our various fundraisers, we carry on the tradition of giving by donating to many worthwhile charities that support and empower women and the family.
