GOYA

Saint George’s GOYA is currently comprised of 60 teens, grades 7-12.

The mission of the GOYA ministry is to strengthen the spiritual connection between young Orthodox Christians and Jesus Christ. It focuses on guiding teenagers to experience the Orthodox faith through worship, fellowship, service, and witness. GOYA provides a framework for youth to develop a personal relationship with God and to become active, sacramental members of the living Church.

Active GOYANs host and participate in many projects and events throughout the year, including:

- Annual Halloween Carnival

- Pascha Holy Friday Luminaries

- Food Bank Service

- Community Food and Clothing Drives

- Social Hangouts

- Monthly Meetings

A highlight of the year for GOYANs is the Winter Youth Rally, which takes place from December 27 to 30. This three-day event is hosted in Atlanta by the Diocese. Active GOYANs will have the opportunity to meet other youth from the Metropolis area and engage in Divine Liturgy and Vespers Services, as well as participate in basketball and volleyball tournaments, a Bible Bowl, and a glendi.
